The fine views of Lake Chuzenji elevated our stay, but the single-glazed windows made it a bit chilly at night.

The serene landscape offered a perfect escape.
We faced some disappointment . The onsen reservation system was quite restrictive. It only allowed us to use the facilities once, and the 25-minute limit in the mornings felt inadequate. The older facilities could use some updates, and the single-glazed windows did little to keep out the cold.

The cozy atmosphere brightened my stay, with delicious traditional shabu-shabu adding a lovely touch to the meals. The private bath was a standout experience. The limited number of rooms was nice, and the older facilities could use some updates to enhance comfort. Noise from neighboring guests was occasionally noticeable, affecting the overall tranquility.

The culinary adventure at Chuzenji Pension was a delight! The five-course meal, with charming service and fine lake views that are unbeatable. Our spacious room offered a fantastic panorama, bringing extra magic to an already enchanting stay.
While the town's tranquility is lovely, we were surprised by how quiet it got after dark. The winding roads to Nikko are fine, but don't expect a buzzing nightlife here.

We spent our New Year's Eve at a cozy and comfortable place with breathtaking lake views. the food was beyond delicious, with a wide variety of dishes to choose from. We appreciated the fact that they offered vegetarian options for those who do not eat meat. it was easy to reach the hotel as it was located just a few minutes' walk from the local bus stop. We enjoyed the privacy of the private onsen, which was very relaxing and peaceful.
We did encounter one issue, which was the absence of air conditioning in our room. Though not advertised, we were a bit disappointed not to have it available, especially considering the warmer temperatures during the day.

Stunning view from the room overlooking a serene lake, and comfortable beds. Great location, just a short walk from public transportation and popular tourist spots. Friendly staff and delicious meals made us feel welcome and satisfied.
The lack of air conditioning made the room a bit stuffy at times, but the provided fan helped alleviate the heat. Only downside was having to leave such a wonderful city break destination.
